Punjab Technical University in Jallandhar, India has informed that it will be providing yearly scholarships for Nepalese students together with two universities in Nepal – Tribhuvan University and Purbanchal University.

These scholarships are intended to be for Nepalese students who are from financially weak background and who are academically brilliant students. The number of such scholarship are set to be 6 per year.

The scholarship will be provided in the fields of technical and communication related studies.

This announcement was made by Dr. Rajnish Arora who is the Vice Chancellor of Punjab Technical University. This was done during a press conference which was organised Thursday, 5th April 2012.

Dr. Arora also informed that Punjab Technical University will offer the same university tuition fees to Nepali students as Indian students, for those who wish to study there.
