ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich) – North-South Centre offers scholarships for citizens of Least Developmed Countries to study in ETH Zurich, Switzerland. These scholarships grants are called Sawiris Scholarships which are funded by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development.

These scholarships will be provided for PhD research and such research should be beneficial for developing countries.

For the scholarship, eligible candidates must be:

Preferably a citizen from a Least Developed Country.

Must hold a Masters Degree so that the student can join Phd studies and have a supervisor from ETH Zurich.

The prospective candidate must have some experience in the field where he/ she intends to do the research on.

The last date to apply or submit the conceptual note is: 31 October (2012)

How much is scholarship worth: A sum of 150000 Swiss Francs (which is approximately 16000 US Dollars) every year per successful candidate for three years.
