The Government of Malaysia, Ministry of Higher Education has announced scholarships for foreign students to pursue postgraduate (Masters) and doctoral (PhD) and post-doctoral (Postdoc) studies. Students from Nepal are eligible for this scholarship scheme. The name of this scholarship programme is “Malaysian International Scholarship (MIS)”. This scholarship programme not only includes tickets to Malaysia and paid tuition fees but also includes monthly living allowance, every year stipend for books, travel expenses, medical insurance, thesis grant and visa fees.

Science and Engineering, agriculture and fisheries, economics and Islamic finance, information and communication technology, biotechnology, biosecurity, food safety, infrastructure and utility, environmental studies, health are the areas with more priority for the Malaysian International Scholarships.

To apply for the scholarship, the prospective student should not be more than forty years old. Moreover, applicants should have CGPA of 3.5 to 4. One also needs IELTS with score of 6.5 or TOEFL test with at least 580 marks in paper based test or 230 in computer based test or 92 in internet based test.
