The Government of Japan, through the Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu, Nepal, provides scholarships/ grants for Nepalese students who are looking to learn undergraduate courses (Bachelors Degree) and special training courses (1 year intensive Japanese Language and special training afterwards) in Japan.

These scholarships will be offered under Monbukagakusho Scholarship Program 2013.

The candidates must be citizens of Nepal who should be between 17 and 21 years old as of 01.04.2013

They must have Higher Secondary School qualification (such as 10+2 or A Levels) which is 12 years of schooling. The scores they have achieved in School Leaving Certificate (SLC) and 10+2 must be 75%+ aggregate for Science background and 65%+ aggregate for Humanities background.

What will be covered by the scholarship: UNDERGRADUATE: Japanese Government Scholarships for 5 years from April 2013 till March 2018. This period is 7 years for subjects as Medicine/ Veterinary. SPECIAL TRAININGS: Japanese Government Scholarships for 3 years from April 2013 till March 2016.

Knowledge of Language: UNDERGRADUATE: Japanese Language. SPECIAL TRAININGS: Interested to learn Japanese Language.

Application Period: The application package must be submitted to Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu by the applicant him/her self between 9:00 AM till 12:30 PM – on these days, 23 July 2012 (Monday) till 27 July 2012 (Friday).
