The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India offers DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) Scheme for Foreign Students to study Engineering in top institutes in India.

This scheme is only for undergraduate (Bachelors) programmes.

This scheme is coordinated by National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal from academic year 2010-2011.

To be eligible to sit entrance examinations, the student must have a minimum of 60% aggregate in 10+2 or Intermediate Level.

Age Limit: The students who apply must be born on or after 1 October 1987.

Scholarships/ Discount: The Nepalese students along with other SAARC students get a 50% waiver in  tuition fees.
